Visitors to Primary 4 ...

Hello Primary 4!  I hope you have all had a lovely holiday and are all set for coming back to school on Monday.  I have missed seeing you all, but as you can see from the pictures below, I have been in school during the holidays.  My friends from Japan came to visit and they really liked our school - I thought you might like to meet them too!

This is Kiyofumi - he is 6 months old and very cute!  He thought Haggis was very funny!

These photos show Kiyofumi with his dad Hirobumi, his mum Hiroko and his granny Kayoko.  They had a nice time in Orkney I think, even though it was lots of wind and rain!  Hopefully the next time they visit the sun will shine a little more.

We are thankful ....

As a whole school, we have been thinking about what we are thankful for in our lives.  This is something we think is very important to do as it is sometimes easy to forget the good things in life where there is so much sadness around us.  Everyone in Primary 4 thought and talked about what we are grateful for and we all agreed we are thankful for NATURE.  We each wrote a poem about this and then chose different parts from each of the poems that we wrote.  This is the joint poem from Primary 4 - we hope you like it:

Nature never wants to harm us
Animals provide us with food and medicine
Trees sucking up carbon dioxide
Utterly full of living creatures
Rain pattering against the leaves
Energy from howling wind to windmills

There is so much more that we are thankful for but we couldn't include everything!  If you have anything you are thankful for please leave us a comment.
